The Legion of Hetheria was born back in 2002, founded by Rick and Jesus (the Loera brothers) both of them very young by that year (14 and 18 years!) still the project was not yet taken as a full-time job, but then bigger things came up...
By the end of 2002 the band already had original songs and some gigs of experience, so they decide to record their firt demo CD entitled "TWILIGHT" this CD was limited to 300 copies, and was quickly sold out.
Activities kept on getting heavier as the band started to create a name in the underground scene, so it was time to hit the recording studio again, this time a bit harder, cause due to low-budget the brothers decided to build up a studio of their own and so that was said, and that was done.
TLOH's first album THE GATE was recorded at TLOH's studio during June-July 2003, and released by August that same year, surprisingly good responses from audiences, press and radio, although it wasn't a bad album, still had too much to be taken to the pro level. After this, gigs with bands such as Sirenia, Trail of Tears, and Opeth were done this same year, letting the band play in front of each time bigger audiences.
In 2004 the band is booked for a mini-tour with Dutch band AFTER FOREVER and after this another one with Finland's TO/DIE/FOR, also big open-air shows for Mexico City's downtown festival were played, and then comes a very important age for the band: the tour with Holland's EPICA.
Mexico is a tough place for independent artists, but 2005 meant already 3 years of TLOH's existance, and so bigger projects came along. In this period the band mostly came in the Studio again for composing new songs, so the second band's album "CHOICES" was released in October under the Loera's own brand: "JRJR Records", this was just before taking the plane for their first EUROPEAN TOUR, mostly Belgium and The Netherlands, including the Metal Female Voices Fest 3, with artists such as Lacuna Coil, After Forever, Leaves' Eyes, Epica...
End of 2005.... what next? Well, History is of course still being written, in 2006 the band get's off the road for a couple months, but then EPICA's invitation for playing in Mexico City together again was definetely a must, even when Rick just had an appendix surgery 3 days before...!, more than 1800 people showed up for that gig, but TLOH was only able to play a 20 mins set.. so neither the band nor the audience were satisfied so a bigger step was taken after this.
For August 5th, 2006 the band decide to organize their biggest headlining gig so far in Mexico City, the venue: CIRCO VOLADOR, of course this had to be special so the desicion to record this gig on DVD was taken. Weeks of hard work, reheasing, stress.. everything was worth it. More than 1500 persons showed up to see The Legion of Hetheria at Circo Volador, an atmosphere that has hardly ever seen in Mexican underground, fortunately cought on tape so everyone that missed it can be a part of it even if they were not able to attend...
The Band now prepares for their second visit to Europe, booked again for Metal Female Voices Fest, and some other smaller shows, make sure not to miss them!

Hola paisanos! estoy impresionado con su música, es de lo mejor que he escuchado en un buen tiempo! Que lástima que no los descubrí antes y me perdí de su concierto aquí en Torreón, mi ciudad.
Me da mucho gusto ver a una buena banda mexicana aquí en Sellaband, y por supuesto que los estaré apoyando hasta donde me sea posible!.

In the last weeks after entering SellaBand, many good things happened to me. From all around the world people buy ‘parts’ and send exciting invitations to come to Europe and US to perform. I am completely overwhelmed and had never expected this could be possible, although I dream all my life to become a good and renowned record artist. At my page you can read about me and listen to my music. Recently I have recorded SAVE THE CHILDREN, a song to attract the attention of the international media to the desperate situation of children who are victims of war in Africa (myself I was on the run from childhood for 15 years, I know what they go through!). Willem-k suggested to release SAVE THE CHILDREN before Christmas and that inspired me to invite SellaBand members from all continents to join me in a possible remix. The best and most true Fem-Gothic metal band with epic hints. It is rare to see an original LP in the genre especially in the year 2006 but Choices achieves this goal. On top of that, it stays evenly enjoyable fromt the start to the end with no draft songs to fill the gap. IMO less is more in this cd. A keyboard is just enough to get things going rather than an orchestra and the tenor sounds so much better than a repetitive choir. As a conclusion, and compared to the more raw "The Gate", Choices walks on the thin line between underground and commercial. I like this exact mix and i can only hope that things stay that way.Bands in the genre are so easily sold out and go mainstream. I wish this will not be the case with TLOH.
