Dear (potential) Believer,

We are young, hungry, passionate music-makers, new to this website and trying to get our heads around this amazing concept and it's potential.  Rest assured, we are all about the music and any investment will not be taken lightly.  We will make the most of the faith shown in us by working our fingers to the bone, promoting the name of The Morning Side.  We understand that a band is only as good as it's following and we aim to expand our superb local fanbase to a global army of 'Believers'.

Together we can create something spectacular...

About the band:

The Morning Side is a London based outfit which was founded by singer/songwriter Daryl Van Horn and Multi-instrumentalist Sacha Abeysinger in 2005.  After numerous personnel changes (musical differences!), the current line-up came together in early 2007.

The Morning Side aim to write music with a timeless quality, which transcends genres and geographical boundries.  The dynamic rhythm section drives the songs through melodic soundscapes, which are provided by diverse, hook-laden guitars and widescreen keyboard sounds. The suggestive lyrics require further listening and are delivered with passion and clarity. These elements are pulled together by sophisticated songwriting with a universal appeal, whilst retaining an 'alternative' edge.

Within a short period of time, The Morning Side have already begun to cause excitement on the live circuit in London, performing at famous venues such as; The Halfmoon, Putney and The Bull & Gate, Kentish Town. Recent gigs, which included support for 'Air Traffic', have had music fans blown away by the band's own brand of crowd-pleasing, atmospheric rock. The Morning Side have a large local fanbase in South London and consistantly fill venues with crowds of around 100 people.

The band has been the 'featured artist' on online indie/rock station 'Radio K' (www.radiokonline.com) and has been regularly played on www.pulserated.com, which champions quality, unsigned acts of all genres.

The Morning Side are preparing to record new material and will return to the live arena in September 2007.

The Morning Side are:

Daryl Van Horn - Lead vocals/Guitars

Sacha Abeysinger - Guitars/Keys/Backing Vocals

Gary Harper - Guitars/Keys

Nick Ljustina - Bass

Ian "The Fork" Forknall - Drums

20.07.07 - Hot Property !

Following our recent shows at The Watershed, Wimbledon and The Halfmoon, Putney, we have had some superb offers for further shows at these venues.  Impressed by our performances, material and large crowds, the promoters of these venues immediately opened their diaries and offered us slots at high-profile events.

The Watershed have offered us a slot at the 'My Luminaries' V2 (Virgin Records' alternative label) signing party, as support to My Luminaries.  Also, we have been guaranteed a prime slot on XFM DJ, John Kennedy's residency night at The Watershed, which begins later this year.  This should lead to some good exposure on XFM, which is the UK's leading Alternative Radio Station!

The Halfmoon have offered us a slot at a high-profile charity gig in August, in which we'll be sharing the bill with 'Suzerain', winners of the "UK Indy Award '06" and recently signed to Jezuz Factory Records.

All exciting stuff and an amazing response from our first four shows with the current line-up.

The hard work is begiining to pay-off, the doors are starting to open...

Howdy!

Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!

If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.

Please check the forum for updates on contest rules and regs….starts 25 October!

This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.

Of course, if you'd like to, or you know someone who would like to, donate parts for the prizes in the Competition, just send (or have them send) Sommersby the details under a message marked “October Donation."

Hope you join in on the fun and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!

Well a good thing is that you'll bring your local fanbase in, I look forward to that and I look forward meeting them (and you of course) on one of your future gig. And your promise to become active here gives faith you'll get noticed. Your music will do the rest :) (BTW I added you to my playlist in the club)
