THE MUSIC
Groovy rock/metal with catchy songs, this is the best way to describe
theNAME.
At
heart theNAME is metal, but in the newer, more dynamic songs there is a clear
pop influence. theNAME’s own sound combined with musical elements from several
different styles ensures a unique, refreshing experience.
THE HISTORY
Based in Haarlem, theNAME was started in 2000 by guitarist/songwriter Silas.
The basic idea was to start a band with a modern, 'jumpy' metal sound with
accessible female vocals.
By getting Hadassa on vocals, the pop-influences got an extra boost. She also
makes the sound more dynamic and sensual with her clear but yet powerful voice.
This way theNAME created its own style, setting itself apart from other bands
while still strongly appealing to metal, rock and pop listeners.
THE REFERENCES
theNAME released 3 cd's resulting in a lot of gigs and its tightly produced
liveshow is a success everywhere it plays.
Recently theNAME performed on Summer Darkness and in venues such as Het Patronaat,
Tivoli, P60, Melkweg and Paradiso. Also theNAME has been playing as support act for
Epica, Autumn, Xandria and Krypteria. theNAME won the Battle of the Bands and
the 'Impress the Judges' round at the Bodog Battle. January 2008 theNAME won again in the 'City Finals'(read Dutch) round at the Bodog Battle.

Yesterday has been a great day: after playing in "Patronaat" as support act for Epica we went to Paradiso in Amsterdam for the national finals of the Bodog Battle. You were so many that we where overwhelmed! And it's thanks to you all and your incredible energy that we made it to the regional finals - next month in Copenhagen!!!

Just a quick message to let you know about our upcoming plans.
This Friday we'll be playing two gigs, one as opening act for a special show Epica will play in "Patronaat" (Haarlem, NL) and, later during that same evening, the Bodog Battle national finals for the Netherlands in "Paradiso" (Amsterdam, NL).
After this week we'll focus on the new songs for a promo CD which should be released in the next few months.
On top of that we'll be opening for Agua de Annique - Anneke van Giersbergen's new band after The Gathering - on April, 19 in Veenendaal (NL). Stay tuned!

On January 11th, the rock/metal band theNAME will be performing at "Paradiso" in the Dutch finals of the Bodog battle. In the previous round, theNAME took the top spot, so the battle is on...
Before playing at "Paradiso" though, theNAME will first rock the crowd at "Patronaat" in Haarlem, the Netherlands. There we will support Epica who's doing a special pyro show.
It will surely be a tough night for us but, as always, we will bring an energetic, tight live show that you won't forget.

Yesterday we played the second round of Bodog Battle and we did a good job cause we won! Thanx to everybody who supported us yesterday; we hope to see you the next round in Paradiso! Details will follow asap.

Geen probleem. Ik heb jullie zien spelen in het voorprogramma van Epica in Dordrecht, de Bibelot, en ik vond het erg goed! Ik had nog nooit van jullie gehoord, dus daarom maar even 2 cd's besteld op de site. Daarna zag ik ook de SAB button, dus vandaar deze support ;). Succes met het vergaren van believers!
