March: After a break, our final mixes are NOW ONLINE! Finally... Guess that's why they're called final mixes. And...

December: This weekend we first heard some of our demo's, pre mixes. You can listen to them on our profile until we have the real ones. We've also got a new video!

November: We have been in the studio about a week ago. We recorded five songs (one more than we planned!): Single Lady (a new Shackle song), Get You Down, Friday Morning, Romeo's Departure and one cover: Roxanne. The songs are now being mixed and mastered and as soon as we have some (pre-)mixes, they'll be on SellaBand! One of our dads is a professional film maker and he made some recordings of the day. He'll be mixing it into a short film, you can find it in our video section as soon as it's finished!! We are also busy with the album art of the new demo, we'll be selling them to everyone who's interested. More information and pictures of the demo soon...! And... we are also planning to shoot a video...

October: We're preparing for our recording day at the moment. That's why we haven't planned a lot of shows. But as soon as we have our new demo, we'll be looking for new gigs to play!

September: RECORDING DATE! We've got one!! Finally! November 3rd it's gonna be. As soon as we have got the recordings, you can find them right here on our profile! YAY!

August: After a holiday-break we're ready to go again! We're starting to practice this week and we plan to record as soon as possible. So you'll hear about that again! Besides that, we've already got 3 shows planned for this september, to get us started ;). So check out the Shows section!

June: We played the VAK Popprijs this weekend with 5 other bands... We won! Now we've got another day in the studio! So that's very cool, we hope to record 4 songs every day in the studio, a lot of new promotion material for next season!

Our band-year is coming to an end. Two shows to go and we'll be on vacation for some time! So you might not hear a lot from us that period. After our holidays we'll be looking for new shows to play, we're looking forward to a nice new music season! Recording will most likely be happening after this holiday, unfortunately not before...

This month we've played a couple of awesome shows! Queensday was very cool, playing outside in the sun, we loved that. We also played the Dommelsch Clash of the Coverbands and Kunstbende. After that, four of us went on a trip with school so we didn't play those two weeks. For the remaining weeks 'till vacation we've got four shows left. You can check 'em out @ the shows section. So just come and have a look or you'll have to wait 'till next season :). The Shackles

April 21st: This week we've had a couple of great shows! We can't wait to play in the Doelenstraat next week, it's gonna be great. We've got a new show by the way, we joined the Dommelsch Clash of the Coverbands. So come and see us May 4th in Rotterdam!

April 10th: Unfortunately we had to cancel one show, the one at Vlaanderen. It was getting too complicated because of schooltrips of four band members! So we hope to see you at one of the other shows :). We want to thank someone too by the way, it's Funfile! Thanks for buying another part ;).

April 3rd: Charts!: We were sooo surprised! We're on this weeks Weekly chart! Check it out! We hold the 20th position because we gained $250 last week! Here's a screenshot! Hope this will get us some publicity and maybe even some new believers!

March 25th: Thanks!! Everyone at the Tom Tom Party that invested in us this Sunday, THANK YOU SO MUCH! We feel incredibly honoured!

March 17th: New song! We recorded a new song today. It's called Romeo's Departure and it's written and sung by Benno. Because it will take some time before we're going into the studio, we wanted to record this one ourselves. We used Benno's laptop, our instruments and a rehearsal room. That's why it may not sound perfect, but it gives an impression 8).

February-update: What we thought was going to be a more quiet period, because of the time we're going to spend in the studio, happens to become not as quiet as we expected! Shows keep coming and ofcourse we're not going to refuse anything, we have even got our first festival show, it will be on a saturday, 16th of June @ Rotorock! We're still busy with new songs and the studio man, we'll keep you posted about that.

Bio: We are The Shackles. Half of our band is female, the other half is male. One half is 16, the other half has just turned 17. Half is vegetarian, half is meat-eater. Pretty good balance, right?
After having a lot of different compositions, we really started playing together about 1 year ago. We also changed the band name by then. We are now called The Shackles and we are performing as much as we can. We're also writing our own songs. All we want to do now is to get better together, and individually. So if you live in the Netherlands just come and see us sometimes. We haven't got 'real' recordings yet, so you'll have to do it with the live stuff for now.
