What a night...
This is a special edition of the SellaBand Tribune. It is intended as a little appetizer for the 'main course' later tonight: the full webcast of An Evening With SellaBand at Gibson Guitar Studio. What you will get to see as of 8 PM CET is the full show, as it went down on Tuesday June 5. No editing, except for the intermissions, which were short anyway, but we left them out of the final cut. Apart from that, what you will get to see tonight is exactly how it was on the night.
So, how was it then? Well, it was loud, crowded and we all had heaps of fun, but most of all it was hot. Incredibly HOT! The AC system we had rented was not working properly and the windows could not be opened either (the venue is situated in a residential area and neighbours would be complaining about the noise). You can imagine we ran out of drinking tickets pretty quickly, but everybody hung in there and stuck it out until the very last minute. Lucia Iman, Bulletproof Messenger, Maitreya (+ guests), Second Person and Clémence all gave us a fantastic impression of the quality and authenticity that can be found on SellaBand. There were many, many other artists present too, meeting their Believers and cheering for their colleagues. Daniel Ward-Murphy, Kirt, Mysti Mayhem, T-ka, Alexx from Nearfield, Bim, Sunsoma, Sheet Metal, and Trail were all there, confirming the community spirit of SellaBand. And the special mention of the week goes to the guys of So What, who came by bus from their hometown of The Hague (NL) and spent the night in a youth hostel. Seriously, you cannot be more dedicated than that!
Next Tuesday we will return to our regular form with the next 'Normal' edition of the SellaBand Tribune. We will focus on Concert @ Sea, which is our next highlight, later this month, we will bring you the official reactions from the performing artists about their London trip and, of course we will write about Maitreya, who closed his 50K budget on the evening of Saturday June 1. Six SellaBand artists have now raised $50,000 and are in various stages of preparing their SellaBand albums. Some are almost done, others are currently in the studio or are thinking hard about how they want to go about. As always, we will keep you posted, but for now: have fun with London Calling; An Evening With SellaBand...
