What happens if you put one heavy metal freak, one hip-hop lover, one britpop fan and a hippy together in one rehearsal room? It’s VICIOUS VISJES!
The band's first demo immediately led to a number of gigs in Dutch provinces Groningen en Friesland, a live-concert for local radio (OOG) and three months after their first public appearance they already managed to win the 'Rode Oortjes Festival' in their home town Groningen.
Their debut CD Natural High Tide was presented in a packed Vera and got good reviews all over the country. Songs off the CD were played by local as well as national radio stations (like Leidsekade Live, VPRO en Kink FM). The band also played in the final of the ‘Pop=Prima Prijs’, Groningen’s preliminary to the ‘Grote Prijs van Nederland’ and toured throughout the entire country.
After playing at the prestigious Eurosonic festival and coming in 2nd in the final of the Battle Of The Bands in the Melkweg (Milky Way) in Amsterdam, for which 120 bands had entered, VICIOUS VISJES played Germany for the first time. In all their concerts VICIOUS VISJES show that they have the ability to surprise the audience time and time again with their superb backing vocals and weird mixtures of musical styles. The music itself has been compared to bands like Urban Dance Squad, Metal Molly, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ween and Primus and even the Beatles and the late Frank Zappa have been mentioned. The band, using these various influences, have created a sound of their own, however, which they dubbed ‘Gumbo’, named after a voodoo-soup, which includes many many ingredients.
Recently, their third CD, "Not For Sailing" was released. With this CD they prove: Vicious Visjes are giving eclecticism a place in pop history.

Howdy!
Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.

This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.
