The end of 2006. Five friends decide to start a rock band. After some initial sessions in members’ homes, the five decide there’s enough potential, and move into a rehearsal room. Worldwide Ponyride is a fact. Their goal at that time is clear: write songs and go out and play! They decide to take fate in their own hands and during the Queensday celebrations they go out and do their first gig, guerrilla-style, in public. Partially thanks to that gig, and without even having out a demo, the guys get offered to do a show in the Talent Factory in their hometown Den Bosch. The response to that show is amazing. Online pop magazine 3voor12 praises the band for their strong arrangements, versatility and technical capabilities. Also, the band gets offered three additional shows. One of which in Utrecht (dB’s Studio’s), one at a graduation party and the other at Zomerpop 2007. Zomerpop turned out be a great gig, allowing the band to show off their skills on a gigantic main stage amidst bands like De Kern and Undeclinables. Local radio Vestingstad FM picks up word of the band, and gives them the opportunity to play live on the radio. Also around that time, the main pop stage in Den Bosch, W2, approaches the band to play at Boschkilde, a festival showcasing upcoming local artists. Partly because of taking promotion in their own hands the venue almost gets sold out. Playing for almost half a thousand people the band shows the progression they've made over the past months. Now with the demo done, t-shirts on their way, more songs to be added to the playlist and a strong willingness to make a step forward, Worldwide Ponyride is planning to rock the stages more than ever before.
