Dear Friends,

We are Second Person and welcome to The Lemon Tree Project. In September 2006 we joined Sellaband not knowing what to expect and within six months we were the first UK artist (third overall) to have reached the $50,000 target. Nearly 750 believers invested between $10-$1800 in the creation of a project that we titled "The Elements". This project involved five songs representing the five chinese elements and one video for the first of these: "Wood". This video went on to be watched by over 450,000 people on YouTube and countless others on MTV and VH1 throughout the UK and mainland Europe.

Just over 2 years after signing up to Sellaband for the first time we have returned. Second Person has learnt a huge amount since that time and we care just as much about the Sellaband concept as we did when we first joined. It is our hope to raise $100,000 to fund this, our new project, and continue to maintain the artistic freedom and believer support that we enjoyed on The Elements.

The Lemon Tree is collection of ten songs, these are listed below. Due to the very high standards that Second Person aims to maintain in the production and recording of their material it was not until now, with the introduction of the $100k budget, that we were able to produce a full album using this unique method of funding.

The majority of the album has been recorded as demos, and we will be adding these to our profile as they are mixed. Many of these songs have been created through the use of synthesized and sampled instruments to give us (and you) a rough approximation of what they are likely to sound like when recorded properly. Using the best musicians, professional studios and the ears of legendary producer/engineer Tony Platt we will be recreating these songs to a world-class standard.

The title of the project comes from a short story written by the band's co-writer/vocalist Julia Johnson and although we are announcing what tracks will be on the album we will not be disclosing the track order or what else will be provided with the album.
