and the participating music lovers. Because you're probably not a lawyer, we
have tried to make this document as easy and understandable as possible.

Use the search page to find an Artist you like and believe in.
02 Create a Profile
02 Sign up for Free
Make your own Artist page on SellaBand.com. Create a profile that
appeals to potential Believers. Upload a picture, a biography and a maximum
of 3 demo-songs that represent you as an Artist. Tell your fans where they
can see you play live, where they can find your own website, etcetera. Do
you have a MySpace account? Let your Believers know!
Read our (simple) Terms and Conditions, accept and continue.
03 Raise $50,000
03 Participate
In total there are 5,000 so called Parts of $10 each. So, what you have to
do is find 5,000 Believers who will buy 1 Part. Or find 2,500 who will buy
2 Parts. Or find 1 Believer who buys 5,000 Parts. Anyway, we think you
get the picture.
For the first time fans and Artists can be in business together.
Therefore each Artist issues 5,000 so called Parts.
Parts cost $10 (plus transaction costs) each. Together Believers have to raise $50,000 to get
their Artist of choice in the studio. At any point before your Artist has reached the Goal of $50,000, you can withdraw your Parts and pick a different Artist. You can even get your
money back. It's your music. It's your choice.
04 To the Studio
04 Find More Believers
Once you've reached the Goal of $50,000 SellaBand will provide an experienced
A&R person to guide your recording process. Together with a top Producer
you get the chance to record a collection of your best songs in a state-of-the-art
Studio.
Help your Artists of choice to raise $50,000. You can do this via
communities such as MySpace or simply by enthusing your friends. Once an
Artist has reached the Goal and has raised $50,000, it is no longer
possible to buy Parts from this Artist. Only these 5,000 Partholders will be in
business with their chosen Artist.
05 Limited Edition CD
05 To the Studio
All your 5,000 Believers will receive an exclusive Digi-Pack CD with the
result of your professional studio-recordings. This limited edition CD
will be sent to the homes of your Believers.
Once your Artist has raised $50,000 SellaBand will assign an experienced
A&R-person to this project. Together with a top Producer, your Artist will
record a CD in a state-of-the-art Studio. During the process you
will get an exclusive sneak preview of this exciting process.
06 Free Downloads
06 Your CD.
Three of your newly recorded songs will be given away for free on our website. What do you mean, giving away my music for free? Yes, if treated in the right way, free music can be the perfect tool to promote your music. The other tracks you have recorded with SellaBand will be sold as paid Downloads for 50 dollarcents each. The net profit will be split evenly between you, your Believers and SellaBand.
As a Believer you will receive a Limited Edition of the CD at your home address. You earn the right to sell any additional copies of the Limited Edition you own through SellaBand. Play it loud and use it to promote your Artist!

All advertising revenues generated via SellaBand will be shared equally between the SellaBand Recording Artists, their Believers and SellaBand. This three way split will be based on market share. The more your songs are downloaded on SellaBand (by unique visitors), the bigger your market share and the more money you and your Believers can make.

A so called Regular version on your CD will be made available. You can order them at cost price from SellaBand and sell them at gigs, local stores or your own website. From every CD you sell, 2 dollars will be allocated to your Believers. You can set the price as high or low as you feel fit. SellaBand gets nothing from these sales.
Also, SellaBand will sell the Regular version on its own website and through online partners and offline distribution. Of these sales, the net revenue will be split equally between you, your Believers and SellaBand.

As a Believer in a SellaBand Recording Artist, you have the right to open your own Shop on SellaBand and sell the related products from your Artist. For every purchase that is made through your Shop you will earn a special commission. See how much you can earn per sold item in the overview on the left. Also, a fixed amount of 2$, will be allocated to the Believers (divided by 5,000 of course) for every copy of the Regular version of the album that is sold through the Artist, SellaBand or one of our partners.
09 Promote Your Music
09 Promote The Music
Promote yourself and your music by making links to your profile page on
SellaBand.com and other (music) communities. Announce the url on concert
posters, your own website, etc. And don't forget to motivate your Believers
to promote your band. After all, SellaBand connects you with dedicated
fans that will serve as the most aggressive street- and e-team ever!
You and the Artist are now in business together. Spread the word around, remember, the more your Artist's music is downloaded from our portal, the more money you make.
10 No Strings Attached
10 No Strings Attached
At all times during the SellaBand program, you are free to leave. But why
would you? If you want to you can sign with any label of your choice. You
are free to go, also after you've recorded the CD. The big
difference is that you now have a professional product and a whole army of fans
behind you. We wish you good luck with your career and perhaps we'll meet
again.
There are no strings attached to our program. If you want to leave, you are
free to go. Just make sure you play your SellaBand CD loud and stick around if you want to collect your profit!
