MRP was born in New Zealand or Aotearoa - meaning: the land of the long white cloud; however, he has been wandering the world most of his adult life ... since 1988. And while he holds a degree in history he has never had a permanent job or a career, never owned a house or car or motorbike - but once had a TV. Today he remains 'on the road' and single, never married, no children, few assets, no social circle or societal niche. One day he may 'normalize' but for now he remains addicted to the constant fresh experience that is the freedom & excitement of a searching, nomadic life.
MRP has: been arrested for 30 hours by the military in Saddam's Iraq (1989); survived a cyclone in Bangladesh that killed 138,000 in one night (1991); hitch-hiked the Sahara Desert from north to south, from Algeria to Nigeria (1991); hitched over the Himalayas from Tibet to Nepal (1994); hitched overland from England to India, via Iran & Pakistan (1990); travelled a loop around South America, including horse-trekking in southern Colombia (2002-03); done the Trans-Siberian route from Beijing to London, and been drugged, abducted, and robbed in Russia (2005); been broke & living with refugees in Lagos, Nigeria (1991); worked for the United Nations Peace Keeping Forces in East Timor (2000-02); illegally left / escaped Indonesia by fishing boat (2000); voyaged to Antarctica by ship for New Year (2003); chilled with sadhus - holy men, explored psychedelics at Goa-trance parties, India (1990); been mugged by knives to the throat in Rio, Brazil (2003); partied with local Rasta/hippies on Easter Island (2002); been amid riots in Jerusalem (1989) & India (1990); been presumed dead in Peru (2002) & Cambodia (2005); and much more ... &am p;am p;nb sp; &am p;am p;nb sp;

I have always loved music - so I'm here on Sellaband as a believer to encourage emerging artists ... (as I'm an artist myself, in digital art & photography). However, as I don't work that much and don't have the means to invest hugely in anyone or anything beyond travel, I can only support a handful - in what I now see as dozens of great, emerging artists arriving on SAB - yet, I hope I can encourage all to stay strong, believe, and follow their dreams ...

Hi !
I uploaded another 3 new DEMOS for my new album to my sellaband profile! I’m still planning to release my second album this year, but it won’t be possible without the 50k of sellaband! I think the music deserves it, and if you think that as well: Support me!!!
