Vegas Dragons - Lovingly Cruel Eternally grateful to our Believers

 I just wanted to wish everyone the best for the coming year.
 
It is only 5 hours away from 2009 in Australia and I am doing some quiet reflecting on the year that is quickly passing by. There have been some very exciting highlights. For those that are interested, here they are:
 
*Vegas Dragons "Lovingly Cruel" was recorded, mixed, mastered and released. It was so great to have Believer and friend Shane Seymour * come up from Victoria and watch some of the recording process. Thanks for that Shane, it really meant so much. It was just so much fun to see it all come to life. Thanks to Phil, Jeremy, Pete and Joe who really put so much into the CD.
 
* The thrill of having the CD done and playing it for the first time when driving back home from the mastering session at the 301 studios with Phil Tweed was awesome. To have "Lovingly Cruel" cranked up on Phil's stereo was such a thrill, such an accomplishment. That was one of the great highlights of the year.
 
*Flying to Holland for a week to sign the CDs and meeting some of the very special people that made it possible was a great thrill. People like Onno Hoogendoorn and Pat Sticks and THE BOSS  JohanV were kind enough to let me stay in their place. WalterM. was also kind enough to let me stay in his hotel room. I was broke.... and I would have been sleeping on the floor at SAB Headquarters without them. Thank you!
 
*I got to meet so many special Believers, like DarthKoala, Noldi, Ramon Brandt, Berry (aka Raasdorp), Steven[Francis Rodino Street Team], Josefini Ramona Ed the Cheesehead .... ::: HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! ::: ....
to name but a few.
 
*I got to meet some very special people working at Sellaband like beautiful Dolly  Rey Gamba Chris who are doing so much to try and make us artists get heard around the world. They will never hear me put them down. They are doing all they can and I am still 100% proud to be a Believer and an artist on this special site.
 
*To write the lyrics and record the vocals on "Never give up" for MR-10 great tune was also a great thrill. I am very proud of the song and the lyrics help me get through the tough days.
 
*To see the new Vegas Dragons account reach 20% budget is awesome. Thank you Paul McMaster SANDBOX SUPA INCENTIVES who is so very generous with his support and a big thank you to the other 131 Believers who have taken part. This is a great thrill. A few have asked "Why have you not gone for $100,000?" To be honest - that is too excessive for Vegas Dragons needs. It would be great just to get another $50K and record again with Sellaband. I know that this may take a long, long time to get there but I am patient and being creative is in my blood. Somehow I would like Vegas Dragons to record again and it would be a great thrill to be able to do it with Sellaband.
 
*Promoting of the CD took up lots of time. Many of my personal copies were sent to press around the world. The results were at time upsetting. I guess when you are broke and trying to promote a CD against the likes of  bands with lots of money and publicity machines behind them you have little hope. It was fun to have the small victories of hearing the songs on local Australian radio and around the world on small radio stations. It was also great to see on line blog reviews of the CD.
 
*The Vegas Dragons promotion machine will keep on chugging along in 2009 with more CDs being sent and the animated filmclip for Blue Butterfly nearly done. (The draft is done, just needs a little more polishing so it can be viewed on television.)
 
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for making all this possible. I hope that 2008 has been very special for you and I hope that 2009 is a much better year.
