EN-X_

EN-X (short for Entity X) is an entity embodied by members from different walks of life, coming together to form a powerful bond through music; The X symbolises the reconciliation of the heart and mind, the outer self and inner self,faith and the soul,(as seen by the two lines intersecting at a point).

They strive to create music “crafted by the mind and fueled by the faith of the spirit and sincerity of the heart”, hoping to touch and inspire the lives of their listeners.

EN-X started with Alvin (vocalist), who left his former band Black Angelica in search for something more out of what he was doing with music. He felt a calling to do something more and the position he was in held him back. There was a distinct need to create something new and push the boundaries of sound; the urgent desire to express and constantly challenge himself to share his thoughts and ideas, ultimately creating compelling and heartfelt pieces of music that could reach deep down inside and touch the soul, just as many good songs have done so and changed his own life before.

He proceeded to work with a couple of friends (Joel and J Xie) from Nanostudios in July 2007, who produced and aided in arranging one of his pieces, titled 'Falling'. Armed with his solo recording, he went out in search for musicians to pursue this new direction in music with. Eventually, he came together with JR (drummer), Vanessa (Keyboards), Nicholas (Bass) around August 2007. After several line-up changes (due mostly to scheduling issues and lack of commitment), Joel (guitars) was the final member to join EN-X.

Since then, EN-X has grown from strength to strength. They have sent in demo recordings for the NOISE Singapore Festival, in which they managed to win 2nd prize for the online voting competition for the song Falling. They participated in the Baybeats Festival auditions, in which they were shortlisted for the closed auditions (top 30 bands) and unfortunately did not manage to make the final cut of 11 bands to perform. They have continued to perform at prolific locations in Singapore such as The Arena, competitions such as Virtuoso 2007 as well as events such as BEAT, organized by the Singapore Management University, one of the top 3 universities in Singapore.
